Map Chip Material
To create a map, you first need to prepare a maptip image from which to create the map. You can create several types of views in Tiled, but this time we will create a square overhead view, so we will prepare a maptip image for it.
This time, I borrowed from the following site and used it as a sample by deleting unnecessary parts.
Create a map
Launch "Tiled" from the Start menu.
Select New Map.
You can leave it as it is, but if the size of one chip in the mapchip image you want to use is other than "32x32", change the "tile size".
I'm taken to the Create Map screen, but I can't create a map yet. Register the prepared map chip image so that it can be used as a tileset.
Select "New Tileset" in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Set the Name to any you want. If you plan to use more than one maptip image, give it a descriptive name.
Tilesets can be saved individually in a file, but in this case, we'll embed them in the map data file we created for simplicity. In that case, check "Embed in map".
Specify the mapchip image prepared this time in "Image". The tile size should fit the image.
This will create a tileset. You can see that you can select tiles in the specified size.
Try selecting the tiles you want to use and placing them in the editor in the center of the screen. You should be able to fill the place you clicked with the tiles of your choice.
If nothing changes when you click on it, the scaling may be smaller. You can resize the view by holding down the Ctrl key and turning the mouse wheel.
preservation
Once you've created your map, save it. If you save it, you can resume from the edited state. There is a "Save" on the tool button of each tab, so click on it.
Specify a name of your choice and save it.
Close the map you're editing
You can edit multiple maps at the same time, each of which is managed by a tab. If you want to close the map you're editing, click the close button on the tab.
If you are editing, you will see a confirmation dialog before closing.
Terminate Tiled
Click the close button in the window.
Open a saved map
If the map was left open the last time Tiled exited, it will be automatically loaded when Tiled starts.
If you want to open the specified map, double-click the saved file to open it.
Alternatively, you can drop the file into Tiled or open it from Tiled's menu.
