Create an account in Microsoft Azure

What to prepare in advance

Please prepare the following in advance.

• Microsoft account (registration instructions are provided in Create a Microsoft account)
• Credit or debit card (for the free version, you will not be charged, but you will need it for your registration information)
• Landline or mobile phone (required for authentication)

Registration Procedure

Now that you're creating a free account, go to the Create a free Azure account now page from your web browser. Once you are on the page, click on the button "Get Started for Free".

Enter the email address and password for a Microsoft account you've already created.

If you enter your e-mail address, you may be redirected to another page without permission for some reason, but in that case, enter it from there.

If you have not logged in for a while, the screen shown below may be displayed, so click "Next".

If you have set up two-factor authentication, etc., the screen shown below will be displayed, so receive the code by e-mail and click "Next" to enter the code.

The flow so far differs depending on the person, but from the screen shown below is the registration screen for a Microsoft Azure account. There are roughly four items, so first enter "1. Your information".

The email address is fine with the email address of the Micorsoft account you just used.

The separation of digits is strange depending on the region etc. of the phone number, but there is no problem if you enter it as it is.

"2. Identity verification by phone" performs authentication by telephone. Enter the number of the phone you have. If it is a mobile phone, the delimitation of digits is strange, but there is no problem to enter it as it is.

If you can receive text messages on your phone, click the Receive Text Messages button and enter the code you received. In my case, I couldn't receive a text message in PHS, so I clicked on the "Receive verification code by phone" button and decided to listen to the code by phone audio. By the way, as soon as you click this button, you will receive a phone call, so please have the phone at hand.

In the case of telephone audio, the other party will unilaterally say a six-digit code in English twice, so enter that code. You don't have to talk about it here. After entering the code, click the "Check Code" button.

In "3. Identity verification by card", enter the information of the credit card you have. If you enter incorrect information or enter information for a credit card that is already registered, you may not be able to register.

In "4. Agreement", check "I agree to the subscription agreement, plan details, and privacy statement." and click the "Sign Up" button. Please refer to the page linked to the statement as needed.

After that, follow the steps and register is complete when the following dashboard page is displayed. Please register it as a favorite of your web browser and immediately add it to this page.
