Set the OS keyboard input language to Japanese array
These operations require that you are signed in as a user with administrator privileges.
Start Registry Editor first. Display the charms and select Search.
Enter "regedit" in the search input field and select "regedit .exe" to start it. On Windows 7 and Windows Vista, type regedit in the program input field that appears when you open the Start menu.
You will be asked for administrator privileges, so select "Yes".
After you start Registry Editor, select the following folders from the tree on the left:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters
Back up so that if you make an incorrect change, you can revert to the previous state. Select File from the menu and choose Export.
Save it to a location of your choice.
Created a backup of the registry of Parameters. You can double-click this file to return it to the state it was in at the time of export.
Modify the registry. Double-click or right-click LayerDriver JPN from the parameter list on the right and select Modify. If there is no item, right-click the blank field and select "New" - "String value".
When the dialog appears, change the value to "kbd106.dll" and click the OK button.
Then open the OverrideKeyboardIdentifier in a similar procedure and change the value to PCAT_106KEY.
Open the OverrideKeyboardType and change the value to 7.
These changes take effect after you restart Windows, so restart Windows and check that your keyboard works.
