Long-Range Shooting - Mission 03: Special Train Destruction Operation

Page creation date :
  • All difficulty levels are explained in the highest difficulty authentic. On other difficulties, you only hit the red target in focus, so I won't explain it here. In Authentic, shooting is more difficult than other difficulty levels.
    • The projectile is affected by gravity. Therefore, it does not fly straight.
    • The bullets are affected by the wind. Therefore, it does not fly straight.
    • Even when using focus, time does not slow down.
    • Even when using focus, the final destination of the bullet is not displayed.
    • Even when using Focus, whether you hit enemies (red mark) is not displayed.
  • I have prepared videos and images, so I think using both will help you with your strategy.
  • Rifles often use the long-range "No.4 Lee" or "M.1903."
  • The standard rounds are 'match-grade rounds' that have longer range, but if it's hard to target enemies, they may use 'soft point rounds' that deal more damage.

Introduction

For some reason, the long-range shooting in Mission 3 is set at an extremely short 200m, so you can still earn gold medals by shooting randomly with a rifle. So here, I'll describe methods for recording as long distances as possible.

Shooting Pattern 0 (200m)

You can achieve this simply by shooting a distant enemy with a rifle, so I won't explain it here.

Shooting Pattern 1 (647m: Station building)

From the starting point in the southwest of the map, target the infantry in the northeast station building. Since it's night and over 600 meters long, you can hardly see any targets. You need to check whether you are wearing binoculars.

Set the starting location on the southwest "terrace."

Once you start, don't go straight but drop back to the very last moment.

I stand at the very back corner. The slope is slightly steep and you might slip down, but if you go right-handed, you can ride smoothly.

Face the direction of the station building and remove the binoculars. The direction is just to the left of the center of the binoculars, so you can see the hotel wall in the center of the map, so it's easy to find.

Even with binoculars, you can hardly see enemies, so you judge by markings. The distance is 647m, where you stop for a certain period, which is the best target. The enemy is moving as shown in the diagram below.

When the enemy reaches the 647m point, immediately aim your rifle and shoot before they move. Honestly, headshots are hard to aim for, so it might be good to use 'soft point shots' for damage.

By the way, in the video below, we use tricky techniques to make it easier to aim at the target. Please refer to the video for instructions. It should be useful in any situation.

Shooting Pattern 2 (684m: Station building, use enemy stun)

This technique extends the range by stunning enemies and carrying them as far as possible to shoot. I'm not sure if it's a trick or just standard gameplay, but since it keeps records, it's the best way to gain distance. Using this technique, if you can see the line of fire within your range of carrying enemies, you can extend your record as far as you can. However, the preparation time is quite long.

The firing points and targets are the same as in Pattern 1. First, we go to the target location. As long as you can get to the station building, the starting point can be anywhere.

Once they are knocked out, they are carried away.

As long as the bullets can reach, they carry them all the way to the back of the station building. The diagram below shows the placement roughly, so if you want to extend your records, please adjust the placement to the very last minute. I think checking whether a bullet will reach is quite challenging because you have to repeatedly go back and forth between the target and firing point.

After positioning the enemy, head toward the same firing point as in Pattern 1.

After that, shoot the fallen target with your rifle. Because enemies are down, the hitbox gets much smaller, making it quite difficult to hit. On the other hand, enemies don't move, so there's no worry about them escaping.

Note that even if you can mark a fallen enemy with binoculars, it is likely that enemies will not appear on the screen and cannot be seen with your eyes.

One thing to note is that fallen enemies may disappear when saved and loaded. When taking on a challenge, it's preferable to go no-save.
