Long-range Shooting - Mission 08 Destination
- All difficulty levels are explained in the highest difficulty authentic. On other difficulties, you only hit the red target in focus, so I won't explain it here. In Authentic, shooting is more difficult than other difficulty levels.
- The projectile is affected by gravity. Therefore, it does not fly straight.
- The bullets are affected by the wind. Therefore, it does not fly straight.
- Even when using focus, time does not slow down.
- Even when using focus, the final destination of the bullet is not displayed.
- Even when using Focus, whether you hit enemies (red mark) is not displayed.
- I have prepared videos and images, so I think using both will help you with your strategy.
- Rifles often use the long-range "No.4 Lee" or "M.1903."
- The standard rounds are 'match-grade rounds' that have longer range, but if it's hard to target enemies, they may use 'soft point rounds' that deal more damage.
Introduction
Because the long-range shooting in Mission 8 is relatively short, you can earn gold medals simply by finding and sniping enemies that are a certain distance from the southwest starting point. Therefore, here I have included content aimed at aiming for record-keeping.
| Medal | distance |
|---|---|
| Gold Medal | 425 |
| Gold Medal (Authentic) | 425 |
| Types of difficulty levels | Difficulty (425m) | Difficulty (606m) | Difficulty (656m) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flight distance | ★☆☆ | ★★★ | ★★★ |
| Poor visibility | ★★☆ | ★★★ | ★★★ |
| Target Movement | ★☆☆ | ★★☆ | ★☆☆ |
| Preparation required before the challenge | ★☆☆ | ★☆☆ | ★★★ |
Shooting pattern 0 (425m)
Randomly locate and snipe targets located more than 425 meters from the southwest starting point.
Shooting Pattern 1 (606m: Sniper)
Basically, it's the same as Pattern 0, but among the relatively easy-to-target enemies, you aim for the sniper who is farthest away.
The firing position is the southwest starting point. As long as you don't go down the slope, you can go anywhere.
Use binoculars to check snipers 600 meters away. It's pitch dark, so you can barely see anything. Enemies move left and right, and the moment you pause on the left side and aim your rifle becomes your sniping opportunity.
Below is a 3x zoomed-in image, but since the sniper is walking with the light on, you can barely see their movements.
Since the enemy's scope reflections are almost invisible, if you confirm with binoculars that the sniper stops on the left, I think the only countermeasure is to immediately shoot with a rifle. Being able to challenge at the starting point and redo as many times as you want is a relief.
Actually, there's an even more target in the far right that you can aim at, but since it keeps walking without stopping, sniping is quite difficult. If you go out of your way to try a difficult sniping shot, it's easier to extend the distance in Pattern 2.
Shooting Pattern 2 (656m: Use enemy stun)
They use techniques like Mission 3, where you carry stunned enemies far away and shoot them. The target is the enemy at the easternmost edge of the map, and the location is placed quite far to the east. The shooting point is near the western starting point.
The map will be around here.
It knocks out nearby soldiers. You can defeat other enemies.
Place the unconscious soldier on top of the sandbag shown below. Place it in a spot visible from the firing point. I've placed them randomly this time, but if placed further back, the distance might increase. However, I think adjusting it can be quite troublesome.
Once you've placed enemies, return to the starting point in the west. Unfortunately, I couldn't return to the top of the slope, so I compromised on top of the building.
Check the position with binoculars. Visual inspection is basically impossible, including when enemies are stunned.
After that, shoot the fallen target with your rifle. Because enemies are down, the hitbox gets much smaller, making it quite difficult to hit. On the other hand, enemies don't move, so there's no worry about them escaping.
One thing to note is that fallen enemies may disappear when saved and loaded. When taking on a challenge, it's preferable to go no-save.
As a side note, if you play co-op two-player mode, one side can shoot without going down the slope from the starting point, and the other can be a courier. It is possible to extend the casting distance even further.
