The vertex weight is the ratio of how well the bones associated with the vertices of the model follow the bones as they move. Basically, the vertex weight is expressed as 0.0~1.0 (sometimes outside that range). 1.0 follows the bone 100% and 0.0 does not respond to bone movement at all.
